Weekly Photo Challenge: Hands (pic du jour)

When I come across the topic of ‘hands’, like in this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge, my mind is immediately drawn to this.

This was taken nearly six (!) years ago in a garden near the Göteborg Museum of Art in Sweden. It’s a close-up of this shot and only these two low res images remain. The original, which I’d love to get my hands on, was lost forever when an external hard drive decided it didn’t want to work anymore. Bummer, huh?

  2. Lovely post for the challenge – I’m so glad you didn’t lose these coipies!

    • Thanks! Me too. Saved by Flickr in this instance. :)

      • I’ve been afraid of this, and have a separate portable hard drive now for all my photos and videos/old home movies. I had things on so many random devices! Many of mine aren’t even fine quality – just memories. I’m not entirely comfortable with “the cloud” – though it worked well here for you!

        • I now keep two separate back-ups, essentially cutting in half the odds that stuff will be lost. (That’s my rationalization anyway.) And I’ll also be investigating some cloud options. I’ll be doing some extended traveling beginning next year and cloud services will be the only viable option.
