A quick stop in Milano Centrale, one of my favorite stations, yesterday to snap a few pics and check out the progress of the massive €100 million renovation. New artworks –one-fifth of the total budget was earmarked to restore “areas of high artistic value”– appear during every lay over. No word yet on completion date.

You couldn’t pay me to ignore these posts!
What amazed me about Milan was the architecture. Travel pretty much anywhere else in Italy and you are surrounded by impressive, old structures but in Milan you have some beautiful modern buildings to wander around a gaze at.
That’s interesting, I’m pretty much the opposite with Milano. With the exception of the centrale station and the area around the Duomo, I’ve never been too impressed with the architecture there.
