I had just over 48 hours to roam about Shanghai and came here twice. Serenely nestled on a pond (as in, the middle of the pond) in People’s Park, it’s a restaurant (primarily) on the ground floor, and a North African/Moroccan style lounge on the second. There’s a small but cozy terrace on the second level as well with fabulous views of the park and nearby skyline.
On the cigar menu:
A Montecristo #2 for 278 RMB (40 USD/33 EUR), or a Cohiba Siglo VI for 388 (56 USD/46 EUR)
And among the wines:
1999 Chateau Mouton Rothschild and a Chateau Latour (no vintage indicated), 11,800 RMB (1725 USD/1400 EUR)
Ladies night is called ‘Ladies on top’. Evenings are apparently quite busy. I came on two consecutive late afternoons, a perfect time.
