Closing the Door on Sucre

Church of Santa Monica, Sucre, Bolivia
Iglesia de Santa Monica, Sucre, 16-Apr-2013

After 16 days in Bolivia’s constitutional capital –the longest I’ve stopped in any one place since I began my RTW trip in January — I’m moving on tonight to La Paz, the capital in practice, via a 12-hour bus ride. Looking forward to it.

This is one of the doors belonging to the Iglesia de Santa Monica near the center of Sucre, whose cornerstone was laid in 1574. Sorry – I have no idea how long the puffy-cheeked cherubs have been hanging out.
