There was nothing subtle about what these clouds, hovering over Cartagena, were implying. The skies burst open less than five minutes after I snapped this, and the rain didn’t stop for hours.
Foreshadow is the theme for this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge, which brought to mind this image snapped on what was probably the rainiest day during my past six months on the road.
The moment most worth remembering from that afternoon was the one when I’m later walking down the middle of a narrow cobblestone street in the colonial part of the city through another torrential downpour, carrying six bottles of wine and feeling inordinately content. Since I haven’t been drinking any alcohol during my recuperation from Hepatitis A, I hope that Cartagena moment is one I can replicate very soon.
