Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis). With its very large bill, one of the most unmistakable members of the bird kingdom. Common in coastal areas of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans; in the former mainly south of the Carolinas through Central America to the mouth of the Amazon in South America and in the latter from California to Chile.
These photos were taken on both ocean coasts in Central and South America. Locations noted with photos.
