Terraced Slopes, Isla del Sol

Terraced slope on Isla del Sol

Today’s Pic du Jour is another shot from my visit to Isla del Sol, the island on Lake Titicaca that proved to be in many respects the spiritual highlight of my six-month overland trip through South America in 2013. The island is home to about 3,000 people, the majority of whom work fields like those chiseled into the side of the slope above.

I’m shooting to finally finish organizing, sorting and editing photos from my favorite island on the planet tonight, with a couple galleries to follow. Stay tuned and enjoy!

Previous images, posts and a couple videos from Isla del Sol are here.

Beautiful! I loved the Isla del Sol when I visited in May – one of my highlights of Bolivia I think 🙂
