This sprawling market hosts hundreds of shops and stalls where traditional garments, handicrafts and spices can be bought, as well as dozens of restaurants featuring cuisines from around the world. It’s the top tourist destination in Doha, and popular with locals as well and can be quite lively in the evenings. The market dates back at least two centuries but was torn down and rebuilt in traditional styles in 2004. It’s within easy walking distance of the corniche and Museum of Islamic Art.
