Water pollution mural, Punta Arenas, Chile

Actually, I haven’t. And I bet this guy wishes he hadn’t either.

Today’s Pic du Jour, the 192nd (!) straight, is of a mural I spotted between the fabled municipal cemetery and hippodrome in Punta Arenas, Chile during my six-month overland trip across South America last year. I had a delicious seafood dinner the night before but here quickly lost my appetite for more.

Located in the Magallanes and Antarctica Chilena region, or Region XII, Punta Arenas, home to about 130,000, is the largest southernmost city in Chile. It’s also the largest city in the world below the 46th parallel south.
