It took more than thirty weeks for Mannequin Monday to finally land in Chile. More specifically, the southern Chilean city of Puerto Varas where this forlorn and marker-bruised sentinel was found staring from the window of a mostly abandoned store front. I feel like this image needs a poem to accompany it. And volunteers?
New to this weekly series, an attempt to create the largest repository of blighted mannequins on the planet? Then you can and should catch up here. Enjoy and do spread the word.
By the way, this image, snapped on 06-Mar-2013 in Puerto Varas, Chile, also serves as today’s Pic du Jour, the 357th (!!) straight. When you’ve got a few minutes to spare, you can catch up with some of those here.
And speaking of the south Chilean city, in case you enjoy contemporary art and missed it, check out this post from a few months back on SURDICO: The Second Biennial of Contemporary Art, which was held in Puerto Varas that spring. The next edition is on the slate for this coming spring.
