The Tropical Screech Owl (Megascops choliba), a small species in the Strigidae family, is common throughout South America expect in the Andes and Pacific lowlands. Its range extends north to southern Central America, Costa Rica and Panama specifically. It’s quite common with a habitat ranging from dense rainforest to city parks.
