Like most hot-blooded creatures, parrots enjoy a little nibbling at the back of the neck, too. But in the courtyard of an early 16th century Franciscan monastery? Oh mercy.
More specifically, it’s the courtyard of the massive Church and Convent of St. Francis complex, or Iglesia y Monasterio de San Francisco, in Quito’s historical center, the largest religious complex in all of the colonial centers of the Americas. It houses a beautiful museum, which I’ll be posting about in greater length shortly.
As absurd as it seems –and it’s a long story– when I was prepping this photo, I was listening to this. Yes, the extended version. The reason why will make itself known in 30 days.
In the meantime and for the record, today’s Pic du Jour, the 459th straight, was snapped on 13-Apr-2015.
