I spotted this child playing with someone’s phone in a small clothing booth in the massive market in Otavalo, Ecuador, the only trip I managed to make outside of Quito during my recent 12-week stay in Ecuador. Work commitments forced me to stay very close to home, a fact I resigned myself to early on.
That proved to be a good test and barometer for my current experimentation with location independence / aka digital nomadism. As I kept telling others, “I’m not here on vacation.” If you missed my Otavalo post, check it out. There’s some practical info and lots of photos from the food section of the market which I found much more appealing.
Speaking of which, at the moment I’m somewhere between Quito and Doha, Qatar, on an itinerary which will take just under 43 hours. I’ve never spent that much time in transit before and probably won’t be wanting to again any time soon.
Today’s Pic du Jour, the blog’s 480th straight, was snapped in Otavalo, Ecuador, on 28 March 2015.
