Tune du Jour: Clearance – “You’ve Been Pre-Approved”
I’m happy to disclose my occasional modus operandi when hunting for Tune du Jour recommendations on SoundCloud: allowing myself to easily lured by names and cover illustrations. Today’s serves as a perfect example.
I was first attracted to “You’ve Been Pre-Approved” by Clearance, the first single from the this Chicago lo-fi band’s upcoming debut album “Rapid Rewards”, by its name. And then by its album cover. The result? This catchy tune by a band I didn’t even know existed a few hours ago which has lodged an earworm deep into my cranium. (It kinda tickles, too.)
Attention musicians, record label reps or fans: Got a suggestions for a Tune du Jour? I’d love to hear it.
Each weekday at noon Eastern Time Piran Café spotlights a new or recently released song from smaller or independent labels to our rapidly growing audience. Genre? None. So long as it’s good. Suggestions are most welcome and encouraged – do get in touch. Please include press info about the song /album /artist, and links to video, audio or both. The more info, the merrier.
CURRENT FOCUS: Since I’ll be based in Colombia through the latter half of August, I’d love to focus as much as I can during that time on new or emerging artists from South America. Obviously, exceptions will always be made. Just trying to keep it local. Thanks!
