Piran Café Tunes du Jour Playlist For The Week Of July 6-10, 2015

Miss any of the past week’s Tunes du Jour? Fear not, I’m here for you. They’re all here, selections from Athens, Greece, London, Dublin, Sweden and Asheville, North Carolina, in one playlist. Easy access. Enjoy.

The lead photo? Rockin’ the Casbah, literally, in Rabat, Morocco, June 2011. I hope this gentleman’s doing well.

Monday July 6 – Kooba Tercu – “Ukunta”

Heavy, gloomy and stark sounds from the streets of Athens, but energizing, too.

Tuesday July 7 – Bad Breeding – “Age of Nothing”

Nihilistic existentialism continued.

Wednesday July 8 – Peder Mannerfelt – “Bapere Dance”

An illuminating trip into Conrad’s Heart of Darkness – through 21st century headphones.

Thursday July 9 –Elvis Depressedly – “Rock N’ Roll”

Lo-fi meandering, murmuring melancholy. But in a fun way.

Friday July 10 –Cruising – “Safe Corridor”

Most appealing? I like the drums, the garage style guitar riffs and the mildly hypnotic voice. And that the EP’s first 100 12″ pressings will be released on hot pink vinyl.

Piran Café’s Tune du Jour feature will be taking a vacation for the rest of the summer and will resume on Monday, September 14. A big thanks to everyone for your feedback and support. By all means, keep the suggestions coming. Enjoy the summer!
