As I mentioned yesterday, I’m currently in Cali, Colombia covering the ninth edition of the IAAF World Youth Championships in track and field, a gathering that features the best 15, 16 and 17-year-old athletes in the world.
I have editorial/reporting duty here but as usual, am trying to squeeze the time enough to snap a few photos whenever possible. At these championships, that means candid shots from the media-athlete mixed zone. Above, already short-listed as one of the best smiles of the week, is Brittley Humphrey of the USA who finished second in the 100 meter hurdles on Thursday night.
Below are two from tonight, Friday: first, Salwa Eid Naser of Bahrain, the impressive winner of the 400 meters and below her, the surprise winner in the boys 110 meter hurdles, Matteo Ngo of France.
If you missed yesterday’s, they are here.
