Do You Know What I Am? #1

Inviting, no?

This armada was spotted yesterday in a field near the Mediterranean shore parallel to Avenue General De Gaulle in the center of Beirut, Lebanon. A boatload of good karma to anyone who can guess what these things, appearing in the blog’s 671st straight Pic du Jour, are.

Much as I’d like a boatload of good karma, they only remind me of Legos, angry little Legos…

Very fun to shoot. Limitless possibilities with these stacks. 🙂

I don’t have a clue what these are, but they are certainly intriguing and I’m curious to find out.

ummm, made out of cement, wild guess…the angry faces were put on afterward by artists, originally intended as barricades but then when they weren’t needed they were piled up and became a public eyesore?

I don’t think that they’re not needed, but rather waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for when they eventually will be used.

Okay, I know what they are but I cheated and looked at your Facebook page, so maybe I don’t win the big prize, but an honorable mention for resourcefulness, right? I’ll let you give the answer, Bob…

are they concrete slabs put at the waters edge to break the waves? someone putting the faces on for a laugh?

The boat has docked and the cargo of karma unloaded! 🙂 They’re called dolos, used to create seawalls and control erosion. A friend on Facebook said they reminded her of Willy Wonka’s Everlasting Gobstopper. Minus the rainbow of colors.
