Mannequin Monday #87

Fill in the blank: A week without Mannequin Monday is like a week without…

Thank you.

Other commitments forced me to take a breather with Mannequin Monday last weekend. Yes, I know, what could possibly be more important?

In any case, to make up for that absence I offer this bruised, battered, chafed and broken quartet, found the year before last in Marrakech, Morocco, as this week’s addition to the planet’s largest repository of blighted mannequins. One, the only one with arms, even has a broken wrist.

The Medina in Marrakech was a veritable gold mine for marred mannequins and I managed to snap images of quite a few. Unfortunately those never left the country thanks to the scoundrel who stole my phone on my last afternoon there. I hope they managed to enjoy them.

Are you new to Mannequin Monday, a weekly series that over the past year and a half has taken the internets by storm?

Then I strongly encourage you to invest a couple minutes and catch up here —and here, too, with a special video presentation (rounded out by a killer soundtrack!) I put together to celebrate the Mannequin Monday project’s first year — an entirely unexpected one year anniversary. It’ll all conspire to make your Monday just a little bit better than it already is and to serve as a blunt reminder that your week can and will only get better from this point forward. Again, you’re very welcome. And don’t forget to tell all your friends.

By the way, this image, snapped in Marrakech, Morocco, on 15 September 2014, proudly serves as today’s Pic du Jour, the site’s 766th (!!) straight. When you’ve got a few minutes to spare, you can check out some of those here. And if you missed #700, it’s here. And #750 here. Enjoy!
