A woman carries a baby on her back as she clears her street stall in Otavalo, Ecuador

Quitting Time, Otavalo, Ecuador

“Who are you looking at, huh?”

Yes, she did mumble something along those lines. And who can blame her?

This was taken in Otavalo, Ecuador, as the hundreds of vendors you converge on the town’s for its weekend market began closing shop for the day. Each Saturday the city of about 100,000 a couple hours away from Quito  hosts the largest indigenous market in South America.

In case you missed it, check out this post which includes a longer travel notebook and guide to Otavalo along with a few dozen more images.

And for the record: today’s Pic du Jour, the site’s 816th straight, was taken in Otavalo, Ecuador, on 28 March 2015.
