Ljubljana Street Art II

Anyone know what this represents?

I can’t quite put my finger on it. Can you?

I’ve been focusing quite a bit of time and attention in Piran Cafe’s Urban Canvasses section on the street art I discovered during recent visits to South America. I’ll be continuing that in a big way but I also want and need to share a bit more about the scene here in Ljubljana and Slovenia as well. Pound for pound, there’s plenty of good wall work on offer for the discerning eye. Sometimes you just need to know where to point it.

Here’s a group of 10 pieces I spotted on a recent bike ride that are currently beautifying the parking lot of Ljubljana’s municipal shooting range on Dolenjska Cesta, just a few kilometers southeast of the city center, and just a few minutes stroll from Ljubljana’s Botanical Garden.

The first, which includes a couple detail shots, is by Azram [Facebook | Instagram | Tumblr], who’s been a prolific painter in the Slovenian capital and beyond for about the past half dozen years. I’d appreciated any and all help with IDs on the rest and will update as needed.

Want a brief intro to central Ljubljana’s street art? Check out this 4min video I pieced together a little over four years ago. It’s got a great soundtrack, too.

More to come.

Enjoy.

“Yesterday Greece, today all Europe” is a scary one. Also hah for the dinnertime. As for what the first one might be saying, I am thinking “Princ”.

I’ve seen a few variations on the ‘First Greece..’ theme.

Delighted to see your impatience. 🙂 It’s there now after it somehow threw off the auto-scheduling. Must have been that odd penetrating look in the eyes.
