It was a busy night tonight in the Qatari capital, but not too busy to keep me from taking a few deep breaths away from the commotion and enjoy a few minutes with the day’s sunset, always one of Mother Earth‘s greatest gifts.
This is the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque, also known as the Qatar State Mosque, not far from the Qatar Sports Club Stadium where I was working this evening covering the Doha Diamond League track and field meet. It’s the largest mosque in the country, capacity 30,000.
And for the record: today’s Pic du Jour, the site’s 854th straight (!), was snapped on 6 May 2016 in Doha, Qatar.
