Today’s addition to the planet’s largest repository of blighted mannequins was spotted entirely by accident on a middle floor of a six-story building in Istanbul, not far from the Blue Mosque.
A restaurant occupied the top two floors, which were perched atop a desolate leather goods shop that could only be visited if you managed to tap the wrong floor button while squeezed into the square building’s tiny elevator. That’s how I got there, where I found myself staring directly into the dark hole of this scabby blue-eyed mannequin, one with a few too many holes in his head, as I exited.
I only stayed long enough to snap this pic. That was long enough.
If you missed it, the landmark Mannequin Monday #100 is here, along with a brief consideration of the project and a look at a handful of Mannequin Monday legends.
New to this weekly series?
Then I strongly encourage you to invest just a few minutes and catch up here. And check here, too, with a special video presentation (rounded out by a killer soundtrack!) I put together to celebrate the Mannequin Monday project’s first year — an entirely unexpected one year anniversary. It’ll all conspire to make your Monday just a little bit better than it already is and to serve as a blunt reminder that your week will only get better from here. Again, you’re very welcome. And don’t forget to tell your friends.
By the way, this image, snapped at the Souq Waqif in Istanbul, Turkey, on 23 April 2016 also serves as today’s Pic du Jour, the site’s 878th (!!) straight. When you’ve got a few minutes to spare, you can check out some of those here. Enjoy!
