Man Carrying Four Mannequins, Quito

That’s pretty much all there is to say about this image.

ICYMI, I reworked this slightly this evening, an old favorite that inspired me to try my hand at creating phone cases and skins a while back. I only sold one; despite those lousy sales figures I still think it works pretty well. I’ll be giving one away on Sunday when I finally re-kickstart my weekly newsletter, The Piran Cafe Reader. You can subscribe here: It’s been awhile, I know, so if you can’t remember if you’ve already subscribed, you should have received a reminder earlier today.

In any case, I vividly recall each of the few short minutes of the one and only time I stalked a mannequin transporter through the streets of a national capital. Can you blame me? This isn’t a scene you happen upon very often, yet the confident and at ease way the transporter carried himself brings it across as the most common everyday kind of moment. Below is the scene in its entirety.

For the record, today’s Pic du Jour, the site’s 1,241st straight, was snapped on 29 May 2013, four years ago today. I hope all five of them are doing well.
