If you were hoping to see a three-story high mural of guitarist Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead fame today who passed away in late 2015, well, you’re welcome.
His is one of several murals depicting heavy metal heroes that grace several buildings in Kavarna, Bulgaria, part of an urban beautification project that was the brainchild of the city’s mayor Tsonko Tsonev.
The rest of the heavy metal murals from this Bulgarian Black Sea coast town are here. And if you’re a fan of Ronnie James Dio, check out this assemblage of shots of the world’s only memorial dedicated to the late latter-day Black Sabbath frontman.
And for the record: today’s Pic du Jour, the site’s 1,261st straight, was snapped in Kavarna, Bulgaria, in October 2012.
