Tune du Jour: “A Single Hope” by Ian William Craig

What I most like about “A Single Hope” is that you can feel it. The music mainly, but the hope, too.

Ian William Craig is a classically trained operatic vocalist who spins that obvious strength with a whirlwind of manipulations –using synthesizers, reel-to-reel machines and cheap tape decks– that send the listener on a dreamy trip to a far-off land on smooth and sublime cascades of sound. I don’t think we ever reach that distant shore but, you know, it’s about the journey not the destination.

“A Single Hope” is from his 2016 album “Centres” on Fat Cat Records.
